volunteers tested 31 locations on Armstrong, Manitouwabing and McKellar Lakes
on Sunday, August 30th. Results may be found under Water Quality. Armstrong Lake has yet to be added to the water
quality map, but results at the two locations tested were satisfactory with very
low levels of E.coli recorded.

If you are one of the many lakeside property owners who is
concerned about the low water level of Manitouwabing Lake, you may wish to read
this report. MLCA discussed the issue
with Bryan Ingram, the Operations Manager of Bracebridge Generation, the company
responsible for monitoring and maintaining lake levels in the local area watershed. The company also operates the generating
station in Parry Sound.
Bryan informed MLCA that the lakes in the watershed north
of Manitouwabing Lake (Lorimer, Grey Owl and McKellar) are similarly affected
so it is not possible to release water from these lakes to top-up Manitouwabing
An afternoon of original
songs and classical favourites at the Strawhouse Gallery, 3 Lakeside Drive at Centre
Road, McKellar, on Sunday afternoon, September 13th at 2 p.m. Vanessa is currently at the
Vienna Conservatory of Music and has studied in New York, England and Belgium.
She will be singing her own original songs as well as classical favourites.
