The new covered McKellar skating rink, beside the Township office, is now open and available for public skating and playing hockey.  Lessons for children, both beginners and those with basic skills, will take place from 4:15 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. on Mondays.  See the news item posted on this website on December 10th for more details or visit the Events Calendar under Things To Do.

On Saturdays and Sundays, the rink will be open for public skating between 12 noon and 6 p.m. and for hockey between 9 a.m. and 12 noon, and 6 p.m. till 11 p.m.  On Mondays, there will be no public skating, but hockey may be played between 6 p.m. and 11 p.m.  On Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays the rink will be open for public skating between 12 noon and 8 p.m., and for hockey between 8 p.m. and 11 p.m.

During school holidays the Saturday/Sunday schedule will apply.  The Township strongly recommended that helmets be worn.  Maintenance may occur at any time due to weather or ice conditions, and special events and rentals may supercede the above schedule under the authority of the Township of McKellar.
