Save Saturday, March 3rd, as a day for you, your family and friends to enjoy a day of ice fishing at your favourite location (excluding Georgian Bay) on any inland lake in the Parry Sound District. Better still, register for McKellar Conservation Association’s 6th Annual Ice Fishing Derby and a chance to win 1st, 2nd or 3rd prizes in each of three categories for the heaviest pike, perch/crappie, whitefish/cisco. Included in the Forty Dollar registration fee (Fifteen Dollars for kids 14 and under) is a dinner held at the McKellar Community Centre.
You will receive a door prize draw ticket for your contribution to Harvest Share by bringing a non-perishable food item. Each child registered will receive a prize in addition to first place prizes for a children’s catch of the heaviest crappie, perch and pike.

Presented in partnership with Seguin Township’s Recreation Committee and the West Muskoka Trail Riders Snowmobile Club is a full day of family fun activities. For every three dollar purchase of a “sledvelope” one dollar is donated to the Seguin Firefighters. The day, Saturday, February 18th, begins at 8:00 a.m. with a pancake breakfast by the Community Education Services (Humphrey Arena) at five dollars per adult and three dollars per child. Opening ceremonies begin at 9:30 a.m. with a 10:00 a.m. departure of the sled dog teams that have arrived from all over Ontario and one team from the United States. Also, from 10:00 a.m. till noon, there is free public skating. Enjoy lunch by the Humphrey Figure Skating Club (Rosseau Memorial Hall) at five dollars per person. From 11:00 a.m. till 1:00 p.m. sled dog rides are available at the Rosseau ball diamond for three dollars per person. By noon the sled dog teams begin arriving in Rosseau’s Memorial Hall where Faye Smith (Post Master) will receive the “sledvelopes” and forward them to Canada Post through the Rosseau P.O.
